CASTINE, Maine – The Maine Women's Basketball Coaches Association named its weekly award winners and Husson University women's basketball sophomore Saige Evans was selected as co-player of the week.

This is the second-consecutive player of the week award for Evans, who continued to shine for the Eagles in a 2-1 week last week, which saw the team pick up wins over Thomas College and Lesley University, after falling to Colby College during the middle of the week.

Against Colby, Evans posted an 11-point, 10-rebound double-double, while also adding a block and a steal, before adding two more double-doubles in NAC play. Evans contributed 18 points and 13 rebounds against Thomas, in addition to two steals and two blocks, while finishing the week off with a 16-point, 14-rebound, three-block game versus Lesley.

Evans has now run her double-double streak to seven-consecutive games after last night's game against Bowdoin College and currently ranks 16th in the country in total double-doubles.

The Eagles are back on the court on Friday for a crucial North Atlantic Conference matchup against the University of Maine at Farmington, with tip-off set for 7:30 p.m.
