WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference unveiled its first weekly awards of the new year on Monday for women's basketball and Husson University women's basketball sophomore Saige Evans was named player of the week.
Evans took home her third player of the week award of the season after continuing her stellar sophomore campaign. Since Husson's return from Christmas break, Evans has averaged 16.8 points per game in six contests, while recording three double-doubles and 9.5 rebounds per game, in addition to over one steal per game during the stretch. The Greenbush native has helped the Eagles to a 4-2 mark since Christmas, including four-consecutive NAC victories last week where she posted two 20-point games, three double-doubles and tied a career-high in steals.
Husson returns to the floor on Wednesday when it hosts Colby College in non-conference action at 7 p.m.
