WATERVILLE, Maine – The Central Maine Collegiate Field Hockey Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday and Husson University swept the awards.
Senior Maddie Perkins took home her third player of the week award, including second-straight, after a one goal and one assists week for the Eagles. Perkins recorded those stats against Keene State College in a closely-contested 4-3 loss, but also played great in the midfield in transition, caused game changing turnovers and was strong on both offensive and defensive corner units
Senior Leah Pushard secured defensive player of the week following two defensive saves against Keene State this past Saturday. Pushard also anchored a defensive corner unit that saw 23 penalty corners in two games this past week and gave up just one goal.
Freshman goalie Ella Duchette won her second-consecutive goalie of the week award and also captured rookie of the week honors. Duchette posted her first collegiate shutout against the University of Maine at Farmington with six saves and kept Husson in the game against Keene State with 11 saves.
The Eagles are back on the field on Saturday when they head to Thomas College for a 1 p.m. matchup.
