BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's golf team took part in the Husson Invitational on Saturday afternoon and took home a third place finish in the event at Bangor Municipal Golf Course.
Husson posted a 357 (+73) as a team, which placed behind Bates College, who won the tournament with a 308 (+24) and the University of New England, who recorded a 355 (+71).
Senior Caitlyn Chabot led the pack for the Eagles with an 11-over par, 82, to finish tied for seventh, while freshman Caroline Chausse tied for 15th with an 18-over par, 89.
Senior Allie Weinert earned a solo 17th-place finish with a 20-over par, 91, while freshman Abigail Theriault posted a 24-over par, 95, to place 19th and round out the scoring players for the Eagles.
Freshman Riley Fyfe placed 20th with a 26-over par, 97, additionally.
The Eagles return to action on Sept. 21 when they compete in the USM Husky Classic, hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
