BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University women's soccer team is set to defend its first North Atlantic Conference Championship since 2009 with the release of its upcoming 2025 slate.
Husson defeated SUNY Delhi 4-0 in the conference title game last year, before falling to No. 18 New York University 7-1 in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
"The Eagles are back and ready to soar into what promises to be another exciting season as we defend our North Atlantic Conference Championship," said Head Women's Soccer Coach Dennis Mullins. "Our 2025 schedule includes marquee non-conference matchups with all three Maine-based NESCAC opponents — Bates, Bowdoin, and Colby. These will be challenging early contests that will sharpen us for another championship run in NAC play. With a championship mindset, veteran leadership, key returners and a promising new class, the 2025 season is full of potential. We can't wait to compete."
The Eagles open up their campaign with a two-day event at Colby-Sawyer College, battling Emerson College on Aug. 29 before taking on the hosts of Colby-Sawyer the next day. This will be the first-ever matchup between Husson and Emerson in women's soccer. The Eagles have not played Colby-Sawyer since 2017 and hold an all-time 3-10 record against the Chargers.
Husson will return to Bangor to open the month of September for a four-game homestand, beginning with non-conference matchups against Bates College on Sept. 3, Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Sept. 10 and the University of Maine at Fort Kent on Sept. 13. Their first NAC matchup will be on Sept. 20 against Lesley University.
The Eagles will take on Bowdoin College on Sept. 24 in Brunswick, before returning to Bangor for another four-game homestand. This is the first time they will take on the Polar Bears since 2018.
Husson ends September and begins October with four more home contests, with Vermont State University Lyndon will be in town on Sept. 27 and a battle with Vermont State University Johnson the next day.
The Eagles close out their home-stretch with a game against the University of Maine-Presque Isle on Oct. 4 and a non-conference date with Colby College on Oct. 7.
Husson will head to New York for the weekend of Oct. 11 to take on SUNY Cobleskill on the 11th and a NAC championship rematch on Oct. 12 at SUNY Delhi.
The Eagles will return home for their final two home games of the year on Oct. 15 and Oct. 18, as Plymouth State University comes to Bangor for a non-conference battle and the University of Maine at Farmington joins Husson on homecoming to conclude the home schedule for the Eagles.
A trio of road games ends the regular season for Husson, as a trip to Keene State College on Oct. 19 brings the non-conference slate to an end, before a midweek game at Thomas College on Oct. 22 and a rivalry game at Maine Maritime Academy on Oct. 25 closes out the conference and regular season schedule for the Eagles.
The NAC playoffs begin on Oct. 29 with teams seeded 3-6 playing in the opening round, before the semifinals take place on Nov. 1 and the championship game happens on Nov. 8.
