WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference has released its preseason poll results for women's soccer and the Husson University women's soccer team has been chosen to finish first in the conference.

The defending NAC champions received nine out of 10 first-place votes in the poll and racked up 97 total points.

Lesley University was voted second in the poll with 90 points and the remaining first-place vote, while Maine Maritime Academy (75 points), SUNY Delhi (71 points) and the University of Maine at Farmington (61 points) rounded out the top-five.

Vermont State University Johnson was selected to finish in sixth-place with 51 points, while Thomas College totaled 43 points and the University of Maine-Presque Isle secured 31 points to place seventh and eighth respectively.

SUNY Cobleskill and Vermont State University Lyndon completed the rankings with 21 and 10 points respectively.

Husson will begin its NAC title defense tomorrow when it opens the regular season with a neutral site matchup against Emerson College at 4 p.m. with the contest taking place at Colby-Sawyer College.
