WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference has unveiled its preseason poll results for men's soccer and the Husson University men's soccer team was chosen to finish second in the conference.
The Eagles collected 85 total points in the coaches poll with two of the 10 first-place votes going their way.
The defending conference champions, Thomas College, were chosen as the favorites with 98 total points and the other eight first-place tallies.
Rounding out the top five were Maine Maritime (77 points), SUNY Delhi (72 points) and the University of Maine at Farmington (64 points).
Lesley University continued the rankings with 46 points, while SUNY Cobleskill (41 points) and the University of Maine-Presque Isle (27 points) placed seventh and eighth respectively.
Vermont State University Johnson secured ninth-place with 26 points and Vermont State University Lyndon concluded the rankings with 14 points.
Husson opens regular season play this coming Friday when it heads to Endicott College for a 7 p.m. non-conference contest, before concluding its opening weekend with a road matchup with Gordon College on Sunday.
