Cross country begins first year under Moczygemba, unveils 2025 schedule

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University men's and women's cross country teams are set to begin their first season of competition under now permanent head coach Mitch Moczygemba.

Both teams will be looking to improve on last year's performances in the North Atlantic Conference when the men took fifth place in the conference championship meet, while the women placed fourth.

"We are very excited for our upcoming season and in particular having the opportunity to host the NAC Championship on our home course," said Moczygemba. "I'm excited to see how our athletes continue to develop and see our incoming first years gain experience competing at the collegiate level."

Husson begins the year on Sept. 6 at the Silloway Vermont State Maple Syrup Challenge, which will be hosted by Vermont State University Randolph, marking the first time that the Eagles will compete in this event.

The Eagles will return to the course on Sept. 20 with the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship, which will be held at Pickard Field Cross Country Course and hosted by Bowdoin College.

Husson will get a preview of where it stands inside the North Atlantic Conference on Oct. 4 when it hosts the NAC Preview meet at Saxl Park in Bangor.

The Eagles will have one final tune-up before the conference championship when Thomas College will host the Thomas Invite on Oct. 18.

The North Atlantic Conference Championship meet will be held at Saxl Park in Bangor on Nov. 1, before Husson heads to Hopkinton, N.H. on Nov. 15 for the NCAA Division III East Regional Championship.
