RANDOLPH, Vt. – The Husson University men's cross country team began its 2025 season on Saturday afternoon with the Silloway Vermont State Maple Syrup Challenge, hosted by Vermont State University Randolph.
Husson placed eighth out of the eight-team field, while Middlebury College captured the win as a unit and placed all seven of its runners inside the top 11.
Freshman Jake Violette was the top finisher for the Eagles, clocking a time of 32:18.97, while junior Micah Bryan wasn't far behind with a time of 32:46.23.
Freshman Oden Schlager produced a time of 35:44.61 in his collegiate debut, in addition to junior Thomas Hinton posting a time of 41:46.73.
Seniors Jaden Grazulis and Christian Zapata rounded out the runners for the Eagles with times of 45:51.95 and 56:40.41 respectively.
Husson returns to action on Sept. 20 when it takes part in the State of Maine Intercollegiate Championship at Pickard Field Cross Country Course in Brunswick, Maine.
