WATERVILLE, Maine — The Husson University men's track & field team conclude the two-day Pine Tree State Classic on Saturday by setting 15 personal-best marks and numerous top-10 performances.
Freshman
Shane Conti clocked a personal-best time of 11.94 in the 100-meter dash, while fellow freshman
Matthew Scamman added a PR in the 200-meter dash at 23.49 seconds.
Sophomore
Carmy Kaniki added to Husson's early PRs with his own in the 400 meters, posting a time of 55.21, while fellow sophomore
Micah Bryan also PR'd in the event at 57.40.
Sophomore
Thomas Hinton added a PR in the 800 meters with a time of 2:30.66.
Senior
David Hileman clocked a 16:10.00 in the 5,000 meters to finish fourth overall and Conti posted his second PR of the meet in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.17 to finish 10th.
In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, senior
Jeremy Stone finished fifth overall with a time of 11:24.91, while senior
Richard Cromwell posted a PR time of 12:23.48.
The Eagles 4x100 relay team of Conti, Kaniki, sophomore
Dillon Haughton and Scamman finished sixth with a time of 44.96.
Sophomore
Mykal Roberson cleared 1.80 meters in the high jump to finish fourth overall and freshman
Ian Cottrell PR'd in the pole vault with a height of 2.75 meters.
Junior
Colin Simpson finished fifth in the long jump with a PR distance of 6.34 meters and added another PR in the triple jump at 12.95 meters to finish second overall.
Additionally, Scamman finished top 10 in the long jump with a mark of 5.96 meters, while Roberson added a top-10 distance of 11.65 meters in the triple jump and sophomore
Gage Moody posted a PR distance of 11.45 meters.
In the discus, junior
Jaden Grazulis PR'd in the event with a throw of 37.32 meters, while junior
Kyle Hofmann also set a PR with a mark of 28.86.
Grazulis added another PR in the hammer with a mark of 35.63 meters and finished fifth in the javelin at 40.99 meters. Hofmann added his second PR for the meet in the javelin, posting a mark of 39.24 to finish eight and Stone finished 10th with a throw of 35.65 meters.
Next up for the Eagles is the North Atlantic Conference Championship on Saturday hosted by Colby College.
