WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference announced its preseason coaches poll results for women's basketball on Thursday and Husson University women's basketball was chosen third.
Maine Maritime Academy was picked nearly unanimously to finish atop the conference after receiving nine out of 10 first-place votes and 98 total points, while the defending conference champions, SUNY Cobleskill were picked second with 83 total points.
Husson wasn't far behind the reigning champions, as it recorded 82 points in the vote to come in third, while the University of Maine at Farmington picked up the other first-place tally and 76 total points to record a fourth-place finish.
Thomas College was chosen to finish fifth in the league after posting 57 points from the coaches, while Vermont State University Lyndon was selected sixth with 40 points to its name.
The University of Maine-Presque Isle and Lesley University were deadlocked at 35 points apiece as they tied for seventh, while Vermont State University Johnson was picked ninth with 31 points and SUNY Delhi rounded out the rankings with 13 points.
The Eagles get their 2025-26 campaign underway on Nov. 15 when they host Saint Joseph's College of Maine at 4 p.m.
