Women’s golf concludes day two at Polar Bear Shootout

BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Husson University women's golf team wrapped up play at the Polar Bear Shootout on Sunday afternoon at the Brunswick Golf Course, hosted by Bowdoin College.

The Eagles finished in 13th-place for the event with a team score of 747 over the two-day event, while Williams College ran away with the team championship with a 22-under day, 562, as a team.

Senior Caitlyn Chabot recorded an 18-over par on day two to finish at 28-over par for the tournament to lead Husson individually.

Senior Allie Weinert was the next highest finisher for the Eagles with a 24-over par on the final day to post a combined score of +41 for the tournament, while freshman Caroline Chausse was one shot better than Weinert on day two to finish at +44 for the event.

Freshman Abigail Theriault rounded-out the scoring players for the Eagles with a 28-over par on the final day to finish at +50 for the weekend, while freshman Riley Fyfe posted a 33-over par in round two to end at +72.

Husson returns to action on Oct. 18 for the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association Championship, which will take place at the Captains Golf Course in Brewster, Massachusetts.
