WARWICK, R.I. – The Husson University women's golf team fell just short of capturing its first conference championship in program history on Friday at the first-ever Little East Conference Championship.
The Eagles finished as the runners-up in the tournament to Keene State College, who posted a team score of 734 to beat Husson by five strokes and capture the team title.
Senior Caitlyn Chabot was the top individual finisher for Husson, capping off her fall season with a round of 90 to finish in third place at +29.
Senior Allie Weinert posted an 87 in the final round to finish one spot behind her teammate with a combined score of +32.
Freshman Abigail Theriault finished in eighth place after firing a 93 in round two to finish her showing at +48.
Freshman Caroline Chausse rounded-out the scoring players for the Eagles with a second round score of 100 to finish at +49 in ninth place.
Freshman Riley Fyfe recorded a 12th place finish in the event after posting a round two score of 100 to finish at +57 for the tournament.
Husson will be back in action in the spring when it heads to Jacksonville, N.C. for the Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate Championship, beginning on Apr. 10.
