WARWICK, R.I. – The Husson University women's golf team is in first place after the opening day of the Little East Championship on Thursday at the Valley Country Club.
The Eagles recorded a 364 as a team in the opening round, leading Keene State College by six strokes heading into the final round.
Senior Caitlyn Chabot leads the field individually with an 11-over par, 83, leading by two strokes over Remy Levin of the University of Southern Maine.
Senior Allie Weinert currently sits in fourth with a 17-over par, 89, in round one, while freshman Caroline Chausse is also placed in the top 10, in a tie for sixth, after firing a 21-over par, 93.
Freshman Abigail Theriault recorded a 27-over par, 99, in round one and is currently in a tie for 11th, while freshman Riley Fyfe posted a 29-over par, 101, and is in 14th after the opening round.
The Eagles will look to finish off their first-ever conference title in women's golf tomorrow, as first tee-shots will be hit starting at 9 a.m.
