Men’s track & field finishes second at Black Bear Invite, Roberson wins triple jump

BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's track & field team returned to action on Friday, finishing second overall at the Black Bear Invite hosted by the University of Maine. 
 
Sophomore Adam Allen ran to a fourth-place performance in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.32, while fellow sophomore Dillon Haughton posted a 25.13 in the 200-meter dash to finish second. 
 
Freshman Matthew Scamman and sophomore Thomas Hinton both placed in the 300-meter dash with times of 38.28 and 40.44, finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. 
 
In the 600-meter run, senior Richard Cromwell ran to an eighth-place finish with a time of 1:34.58 and sophomore Micah Bryan scored for the Eagles in the 1,000 meters with a personal-best time of 3:03.10. 
 
Senior David Hileman clocked a 9:15.30 in the 3,000 meters to finish fourth overall and Scamman finished third in the 60-meter hurdles with a mark of 8.99, followed by sophomore Mykal Roberson who clocked a 9.58 to finish fourth. 
 
Roberson cleared 1.70 meters in the high jump to finish second and freshman Ian Cottrell set a PR in the pole vault with a height of 2.65 meters. 
 
Scamman added to his afternoon with a third-place jump in the long jump, jumping 6PR distance of 6.54 meters to finish third, followed by Allen who cleared 6.11 meters to finish fifth. 
 
Husson claimed the top three spots in the triple jump as Roberson jumped a PR distance of 12.56 to win the event, while freshman Cohen Parker set a PR distance of 12.03 meters sophomore Gage Moody also posted a PR distance of 10.97 meters. 
 
Junior's Max MacCallum and Jaden Grazulis finished sixth and seventh in the shot put with throws of 11.02 meters and 10.63 meters, respectively. 
 
Grazulis added a third-place performance in the weight throw of 11.59 meters, while MacCallum finished fourth at 9.73 meters. 
 
The Eagles return to the track on Saturday for the Husky Invitational hosted by the University of Southern Maine.
