ORONO, Maine — The Husson University men's indoor track & field team returned to competition on Friday and Saturday, competing in the two-day University of Maine Multi Invite to conclude the Fall portion of its schedule.
Sophomore
Carmy Kaniki began the Eagles scoring finishing third in the 200 meters with a time of 24.64, while senior
Richard Cromwell ran to a third-place finish in the 600 meters with a mark of 1:36.43 and sophomore
Thomas Hinton finished fourth at 1:36.96.
In the 800-meter run, sophomore
Micah Bryan set a personal-best time of 2:15.92 to finish second and recorded his second PR in the mile with a top-10 finishing time of 5:09.26.
Senior's
David Hileman and
Jeremy Stone finished ninth and 10th respectively in the 3,000 meters and freshman
Matthew Scamman posted a PR in the 60-meter hurdles of 8.94 to finish second, followed by sophomore
Mykal Roberson who finished third.
Husson's distance medley relay team of Hileman, Bryan, Cromwell and Stone set a new program record with a time of 11:00.81 to finish fifth, breaking the previous mark of 11:22.24 at the 2023 Frozen 8 Championships and Roberson cleared 1.73 meters in the high jump to finish second.
Freshman
Ian Cottrell added a PR performance in the pole vault, clearing 2.65 meters to finish third, followed by Hinton who finished fourth with a height of 2.50 meters.
In the long jump, Scamman, sophomore
Dillon Haughton and sophomore
Adam Allen finished fourth, fifth and sixth, respectively, while Roberson jumped 11.66 meters to finish second in the triple jump.
Additionally, freshman
Cohen Parker finish third in the triple jump followed by Haughton and sophomore
Gage Moody who added fifth and sixth-place finish, respectively.
In Husson's final two events off the weekend, junior
Max MacCallum finished third in the shot put with a throw of 11.54 meters and fouth in the weight throw at 10.26 meters. Junior
Jaden Grazulis threw 10.91 meters in the shot put for a fourth-place finish and 11.67 meters to finish third in the weight throw.
The Eagles return back to competition in January when they compete again at the UMaine on the 17th.
