AMHERST, Mass. - The Husson University softball team's season has come to a close after a 1-0 loss to No. 22 Amherst College in the Amherst Regional semifinal on Saturday afternoon at Amherst Softball Field. 

The lone run in the contest came in the third inning with two outs for the Mammoths (26-8) as junior McKenna Smith held the NESCAC champions to just three hits. 

Offensively, the Eagles (27-11) and Amherst each had three hits in a tight pitching battle.
