Box Score CANTON, N.Y. - The Husson University women's lacrosse team made their farthest trip of the season as they made a trip to New York and dropped a North Atlantic Conference matchup with the Kangaroos of SUNY Canton, 19-6.
The Roos started out the contest scoring the first five goals of the contest before junior Devyn Veits put home a free position attempt as the Eagles trailed by seven after the first.
In the second quarter, Veits tallied her eighth of the season as the Roos led, 12-2, at the half.
Junior Sophia Gomez scored off a feed from freshman Natallie Whitten followed by sophomore Abigail Booth scoring her first collegiate goal in the third quarter as the Roos extended their lead to 12.
In the fourth quarter, Gomez tailled her 11th goal of the season from freshman Maddy Benoit then freshman Emma Romatzick recorded her first collegiate goal from Booth as the Eagles dropped the contest, 19-6.
Freshman Emma Begin started the contest with four saves in the first half as freshman Emily Godfrey took over in the second half and made three saves.
The women's lacrosse team will return home and faceoff with the Mariners of Maine Maritime on Thursday in conference play at 6:00 p.m.
