PRESQUE ISLE, Maine - The Husson University softball team closed out the regular season on Saturday afternoon with a doubleheader split at the University of Maine at Presque Isle. The Eagles won the North Atlantic Conference game in five innings, 17-0, before falling in the non-conference game, 3-0. 

In game one, the Eagles (23-9, 9-1 NAC) scored 11 runs in the third inning as they broke a scoreless tie en route to the 17-0 run-rule victory. Eight different batters recorded a hit for Husson as senior Katie Windsor led the way with four runs batted in while sophomore Teagan Blackie recorded four hits. Freshman Juila Gregoire, junior Katie Raymond, and seniors Meagan Gosselin and Madelyn Fowler each drove in two runs. Junior McKenna Smith had a successful day in the circle and in the batter's box. The Old Town native pitched a one-hitter while also going 3-for-3 and driving in three runs. 

In game two, the Owls (5-27, 2-8 NAC) scored the only runs of the contest as they won the non-conference matchup, 3-0. Graduate student Jen Jones started the contest in the circle as she allowed five hits while striking out nine. 

That wraps up the regular season for the softball team as they await the final seeding for the NAC tournament next weekend.
