CASTINE, Maine - The Husson University women's lacrosse team dropped a non-conference matchup to Maine Maritime Academy, 20-3, on Wednesday evening at Ritchie Field.

Junior Sophia Gomez, junior Devyn Veits, and first-year Natalie Whitten each scored one goal for the Husson (0-5). First-year Emma Begin picked up three ground balls and caused two turnovers. First-year Maddy Benoit added five draw controls, two ground balls and caused one turnover in the setback.

First-year Hazel Stoddard led Maine Maritime (3-5) with 10 goals, six draw controls, five caused turnovers, and four ground balls. Junior Luly Cook and sophomore Aubrey Mitchell both added three goals each, and Mitchell chipped in three draw controls, three ground balls, and one caused turnover as well. Juniors Amber Card and Beth Labbe caused three turnovers each.

Begin recorded 11 saves in the net for the Eagles, while sophomore Charlotte Rose tallied six saves for the Mariners.

Husson returns to action on Saturday, April 2nd at 3:30pm at Thomas (Maine) in a North Atlantic Conference matchup.
