CANTON, N.Y. - The Husson University men's soccer team completed their third unbeaten weekend of the season as they came from behind to defeat SUNY Canton, 3-1, in North Atlantic Conference action on Sunday afternoon.

The SUNY Canton Roos (4-8-1, 3-2-1 NAC) were able to take an early lead in the 8th minute as Agustin Nunez was able to score off a free kick.

The Eagles (9-3-2, 6-0-1 NAC) would trail for the first thirty minutes before sophomore Pedro Molina tallied two goals in a two minute span. Sophomore Mario Alvarez whipped in a corner kick to the far post as Molina was able to get a boot on it but his effort was saved as Molina put home the rebound. Moments later, Alvarez from the other corner whipped in a cross and Molina was there for the free header to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead at the halftime interval.

In the second half, the Roos battled to get back into the contest but the Eagles were able to put a strangle hold onto the contest in the 79th minute as sophomore Florian Gasser put home a loose ball at the top of the box for a 3-1 lead and wrap up the three points for the Eagles.

Sophomore Alexander Rechsteiner made four saves in goal to earn his seventh win of the season.

"Another underwhelming performance today," said head coach Gavin Penny. We have come a long way to play here today and this Canton team pressed and pressed us. They made it difficult for us but as I told the lads, it wasn't pretty, but we found a way. We continued to work the ball, be patient, and tire them out. After the first 30 minutes we started to find more spaces to play and we created more chances. Their keeper made some very good stops to keep the score close and we can consider ourselves fortunate to have kept 11 men on the field. It's been a long tough weekend. We'll take the two wins and keep going. We have a good week to train and prepare for the next one."

The men's soccer team will some time off before they will make a return to Vermont as they will take on the Hornets of Northern Vermont-Lyndon with kickoff set for 1:00 p.m.
