Box Score 2 WATERVILLE, Maine - Batting in the game-winning runs in both games against the Terriers, Morgan Coleman helped successfully complete a major rally in game two in the top of the seventh to help Husson softball (21-1, 14-0 NAC) pick up two wins on the road at Thomas College (7-5, 7-3 NAC) on Saturday.
GAME ONE: HUSSON 3, THOMAS 1
The Eagles broke a scoreless tie with two runs in the top of the third inning. Sydney Ames reached first and took second on two separate throwing errors, then moved to third on a Whitney Bess sacrifice bunt. Kenzie Dore's bloop single to right scored Ames, with Dore taking second on the play. Morgan Coelman followed with an RBI single to center, bringing home Dore and giving Husson a 2-0 lead.
In the fifth, Ames got things started with a leadoff double to the gap in right center. She moved to third on Dore's fielder's choice, and scored when Coleman delivered again, this time with an RBI single to left to make it 3-0 Eagles.
The Terriers picked up a run in the sixth, but Jen Jones pitched a one-two-three seventh inning, to secure Husson's 3-1 win.

Jen Jones (9-0) pitched a complete game and picked up the win for Husson to stay undefeated on the season. Jones allowed one run on three hits, with seven strikeouts and a walk.

Kelsey Currier (1-3) took the loss for Thomas. She gave up three runs on nine hits in seven innings of work. Currier struck out 10 and walked one.

Morgan Coleman went 3-for-3 and drove in two runs.

GAME TWO: HUSSON 6, THOMAS 5
After the Terriers scored a run in the top of the first to take an early 1-0 lead, Husson answered in the top of third. Katie Ryamond's single to right, and Katie Windsor's infield single put runners on first and second. Sydney Ames moved them both into scoring position with a sac fly to left, and an error on a Whitney Bess grounder to third scored Raymond, tying the score at 1-1.
The Eagles took the lead in the top of the third. Jen Jones put herself in scoring position with one swing, blasting a one-out double to deep centerfield. Olivia McCarty followed with a base hit to left, plating Jones from second to make it 2-1 Husson.
Thomas retook the lead with three runs in the bottom of the fifth on an RBI single from Kelsey Currier, and Kasey Champney's two-run home run to right, then added an unearned run in the sixth to give the Terriers a 5-2 lead with one inning to play.
Facing a three-run hole in their last at-bat, Husson rallied. Olivia McCarty singled to lead off the seventh, and was pinch run for by Teagan Blackie. Blackie scored from first when the ball ended up in right field on a throwing error on Jill Bisson's grounder back to the pitcher. Libby Hewes pinch-ran for Bisson, then scored on Raymond's single to center. Ames reached on another infield error just two batters later, then a walk to Kenzie Dore loaded the bases for Morgan Coleman, with two outs and the Eagles down 5-4. Coleman delivered with a clutch two-run single, driving a one-and-two pitch through the right side, bringing Raymond and Ames around to score to complete the comeback and put Husson back on top 6-5.
After Madison Rock led off the bottom of the seventh with a double to right center for Thomas, Jen Jones came in to retire the next three batters, securing the extraordinary come-from-behind 6-5 win.

Sydney Ames (10-2) picked up her 10th victory of the year for Husson. Ames gave up five runs (four earned) on 10 hits in six innings, striking out two and walking one.

Jen Jones pitched an inning of scoreless, hitless relief for her second save of the season and her third save as an Eagle to tie the current HU program record of three career saves.

Claudia Migliacci (3-2) took the loss for Thomas. She allowed five runs (four unearned) on eight hits, while striking out eight with no walks.

Kelsey Currier pitched one inning with a two strikeouts and a walk.
OFF THE BAT

Morgan Coleman's go-ahead, two-out, two-run single in the seventh proved to be the biggest hit of the game.
