GAME ONE: Husson 8, NVU-Lyndon 0
As they did in the two games the day before, the Eagles once again got off to a fast start. Sydney Ames blooper to right fell for a lead-off double, and Whitney Bess and Kenzie Dore each drew walks to load the bases. Morgan Coleman then drove in a run on a fielder's choice to third, when the Hornets got the force at home, but threw late to first trying to get the double play. Bess scored on the throw, and Husson went up 1-0. After Olivia McCarty drew a walk to load up the bases again, Erin Bonenfant's RBI single up the middle brought Dore home to make it 2-0 Eagles. Katie Raymond's bases-loaded walk scored Coleman, and Katie Windsor then brought in two more runs with a two-out, bases loaded RBI single to right. By the time the inning was over, the Eagles had sent 10 batters to the plate, and led 5-0.
Husson added a run in the second, when Dore scored on a wild pitch after hitting a one-out triple off the fence in center field, and tacked on another run in the fourth, after Bess walked with one out, stole second, and scored on a throwing error when the ball went into the outfield on a pick-off attempt, as the Eagles extended their lead to 7-0.
