Box Score WATERVILLE, Maine - Despite a back and forth first-half, the Husson University women's lacrosse team was unable to overcome the Thomas Terriers, dropping their season opener 13-8.

Thomas jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead thanks to goals from Taylor Rodriguez and Autumn Howe. Mary Cushing put Husson on the board, scoring her first of the season to cut the lead in half. The Terriers would chip in another goal before a three-score run from the Eagles put the visitors on top 4-3. Ashley Cummings and Sierra Connor-Schade posted back-to-back scores for the Green and Gold but three unanswered goals from Thomas to close out the first half gave them a one goal lead, 7-6.
Connor-Schade notched her second goal of the contest just thirty seconds into the second half to tie the game at seven, followed by a tally from Cummings to give the Eagles a one score advantage. Thomas would then go on to score five unanswered goals to seal the victory, 13-8.

Cummings led the team in points, scoring three goals on four shots and dishing out two assists.

Driscoll scored a game-high five goals on six shots for the Terriers.

Maddy Olsen chipped in three assists, six ground balls and four caused turnovers.

Eagles goalkeeper Mallory Burchill tallied 13 saves in the loss, facing 26 shots while Arianna Cannistraro turned away seven shots to earn the win.
