BANGOR, Maine – In their final regular season game at home in 2019, the Husson women's lacrosse team (7-5, 3-1 NAC) outscored Thomas College (Maine) (3-7, 0-3 NAC) 14-9 on a drizzling afternoon at Boucher Field.

How It Happened…

Husson came out firing on all cylinders in the first half against the Terriers. Mary Cushing opened the scoring for the Eagles just 90 seconds into the half. The Eagles wouldn't stop there, following up with goals from Maddy Olsen, who also had four assists on the half, Riana Winslow, and a first-half hat-trick from Jordyn Labrie to put them up 8-0 with 11:47 to play. Thomas cut into the lead with three back-to-back late goals in the half from Mackenzie Driscoll, Meredith Wheeler, and Alexis Felch. With 0.8 seconds remaining before the halftime whistle was blown, Maddy Olsen added one more point onto the board for the Eagles to send Husson into the break up 9-3.

The action continued in the second with Thomas starting off the half with two goals of the sticks of Nikki Bradstreet and Driscoll. Cali Newton would grab one for the Eagles, before the Terriers tucked another pair past Mallory Burchill in net to cut Husson's lead to three, 10-7, with 17:47 left to play.
