Box Score 2 JOHNSON, Vt. – In two quick five-inning games, Husson softball (14-8) thrived at the plate to sweep the Northern Vermont University-Johnson Badgers (3-17, 2-4) on Thursday afternoon to improve their NAC record to 5-1.
GAME ONE: HUSSON 16, NVU-JOHNSON 0
Smart bats and stealthy baserunning helped the Eagles pull out a huge 11 run inning in the top of the first to set the tone for the day at Minaert Field. Defensively, Jen Jones nearly pitched a perfect opening two innings for the Eagles with five strikeouts after facing just seven batters.
Taking a turn on the rubber, Alyssa Prest helped maintain the shutout over the next 2.1 innings giving up just two hits before Louisa Colucci made her pitching debut as an Eagle tossing down a pair of strikeouts in three batters faced to finish out game one of the doubleheader in five innings.

NVU-JOHNSON LEADERS:
- Nicole Mooney batted a consistent 2-2 for the Badgers.

GAME TWO: HUSSON 27, NVU-JOHNSON 2
Earning her first win in the circle in her collegiate career, Alyssa Prest threw 4.0 innings, allowing just one earned run and striking out two batters on her way to a 27-2 victory for the Eagles. Also making her first collegiate debut on the rubber, Jillian Blake helped secure the win as she struck out the second to last batter of the game to finish off the sweep of the Badgers in five innings.
Offensively, the Eagles bats were powerful with Prest hitting her first collegiate homerun and Morgan Coleman adding on a homer for her first this season, but the Badgers began fighting back scoring their first run of the day in the bottom of the first.
