Women's Lacrosse Knocks off NAC Foe Thomas College, 16-1

Box Score

BANGOR, Maine- Husson University Women's Lacrosse took down the Thomas College (Maine) Terriers, 16-1, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action at Boucher Field on Wednesday night.

1st Half: The Eagles struck first, notching a pair of goals in the opening three minutes of the match off of goals by Cali Newton, dodging her way to net, and Paige Daigle on a free position attempt. Two minutes later, Nikki Bradstreet drove down the entire length of the field sprinting towards Mallory Burchill in net for Husson. Unfortunately, she built up so much momentum on her breakaway, that she crashed the net a little too hard and stepped over the crease nearly falling into the net with the ball, as her shot was called a  "no goal."

After extending the lead to 4-0 in the first five minutes, the Terriers defended well and held off the Eagles the following seven minutes until Newton captured a hat trick on the night, finishing off her second free position attempt goal of the match with 17:47 left in the first half (5-0).

Thanks to a goal by Maddy Olsen with five minutes left to play, Husson reached double digits capturing their tenth unanswered goal of the night and concluded a relaxing first half for Burchill in net for the Eagles, out-shooting the Terriers, 25-0 with a score of 11-0.

2nd Half: The Eagles continued to break records in the second half as they finished out the night with a 16-1 victory.
