Box Score

BANGOR, Maine – The Husson University softball team was defeated by the Castleton Spartans, 4-3, in the North Atlantic Conference loser's bracket championship game on a rainy Saturday afternoon.

The Husson Eagles took advantage of walks and wild pitches in the top of the 1st inning. Brianna Brochu and Chloe Gorey both walked. Olivia Smith laid down a perfect sacrifice bunt. Brochu and Gorey both advanced on the play. A wild pitch from Castleton's pitcher Kayla Wood allowed Brochu to score from third base. Husson led 1-0 after the top of the 1st.

A Sami Carlo bases loaded walk forced Gouger across the plate and extended the Castleton lead to 4-1 after the 1st inning.

Olivia Smith was credited with an RBI on her groundout to the Spartan shortstop. Brochu scored from third. Husson trailed 4-2 after the top of the 3rd.
