Box Score BANGOR, ME – The Husson University women's soccer team blanked Green Mountain College 2-0 on Saturday afternoon at Boucher Field for the Eagles senior game. With the win, the Eagles improve to 10-6-0 overall and 7-1-0 in North Atlantic Conference play while Green Mountain falls to 2-12-0 overall and 1-7-0 in conference play.
Leah Hibbad (Portsmouth, RI) gave the Eagles the early lead, finding the bottom right of the net in the 9th minute of play. The goal, assisted by Michaela Bicknell (West Addison, VT), marks the 13th on the season for Hibbad.
Brooke LaBelle (Ashland, ME) increased the lead to 2-0 in the 86th minute of play. LaBelle took a long pass from Hibbad as she was able to beat the Green Mountain keeper for her first goal of the season.
The Husson defense never let up and goalkeeper Jess Poulin (Albion, ME) did not have to make a save to earn her third shutout of the season.
Husson University outshot Green Mountain College 38-0 with 17 shots on goal.
Hibbad registered eight shots while LaBelle and Desir'ee Hamler (Franklin, NJ) each notched six shots in the match.
The Eagles return to the pitch on Sunday, October 26th as play host to Castleton State at 12:00pm.
