BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University women's soccer team struck twice in the opening 12 minutes, but visiting three-seeded Maine Maritime Academy rallied for three unanswered goals to earn a 3–2 win Saturday afternoon at John P. Boucher Field in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals.
The Eagles (11-6-2) wasted no time getting on the board, breaking through just 41 seconds into the match. Senior Addi Laslie found the back of the net off an assist from Devon St. Louis that was placed perfectly behind the defensive line of Maine Maritime (12-6-1) to make it 1–0 Husson.
The Eagles doubled their lead moments later when Laslie struck again in the 12th minute — her 11th goal of the year — finishing a long through-ball from sophomore Hailey Tarbox to give Husson an early 2–0 advantage.
Maine Maritime responded in the 21st minute when Hadley Stoddard scored off a corner kick, pulling the Mariners within one. Senior Madison Weigler came up with a key save on another Stoddard attempt later in the half to preserve the 2–1 lead heading into halftime.
After the break, both teams traded chances before Maine Maritime equalized in the 60th minute as Delaney Ennis converted a header on a corner kick from Tarin Barrett. Less than two minutes later, Stoddard found the back of the net again — this time assisted by Isabella Da Silva — to give the Mariners their first lead of the afternoon at 3–2.
Husson pressed hard down the stretch, earning corners in the 66th and 70th minutes and continued to press forward but the Eagles' late surge came up just short despite several close looks in the final ten minutes.
Laslie led Husson with two goals on four shots, while Tarbox and St. Louis each recorded an assist. The Eagles held a 16–6 advantage in shots and took three corner kicks in the second half alone.
With the loss, the 2025 season has come to an end for the Husson University women's soccer team.
