Box Score Bangor, ME – Husson men's soccer fell in their final home game of the regular season to non-conference opponent, Rivier College 2-1.
In a game that honored the seniors in a pregame ceremony, men's soccer was unable to score a tying goal late in the game.
Anthony Capozzi put the Raiders on the board in the 16th minute of the game, but the game remained notched at 1-0 heading into the half. The Raiders struck again in the 53rd minute, pushing their lead to 2-0.
Joshua Bean (Ellsworth, ME) and Stephen Berenyi (Levant, Me) teamed up to set Alain Tuyishime (Rwanda) up for a goal in the 72nd minute.
The Eagles applied heavy pressure in the final minutes but were unable to land a ball in net.
Senior Jay Cuttle (Kittery, ME) earned the loss in net for the Eagles, and Gary Archambault earned the win in net for the Raiders stopping 6 shots.
Husson falls to 5-7-4 and Rivier improves to 4-11-1.
Husson will travel to Thomas College this Sunday, November 3rd, for the NAC Quarterfinal game.
