BANGOR, Maine — The Husson University men's soccer team's postseason run came to an end Saturday afternoon, as the Eagles fell 2–1 to number three seeded SUNY Delhi in the North Atlantic Conference semifinals at Boucher Field.
The game opened at a high tempo, with both teams trading chances early. Husson (7-9-4) earned a corner in the 10th minute following a shot from freshman Jorge Mora, while the Broncos (11-3-5) threatened with several set pieces of their own. SUNY Delhi broke through in the 23rd minute when Kian Flynn fired home a loose ball inside the box to give the visitors a 1–0 lead.
The Eagles pressed for an equalizer as junior Daniel Noguera and freshman Miguel Diaz Alvarez each had shots saved by Delhi goalkeeper Salvator Meloni late in the half, but the Broncos' defense held firm to preserve their 1–0 advantage at the break.
Husson nearly leveled the match early in the second half when Diaz Alvarez forced Meloni into another strong save, but Delhi doubled its lead in the 59th minute. Michael Adeyeye finished a feed from Matt Serrao to make it 2–0.
The Eagles continued to push forward and earned a series of corners beginning in the 70th minute. Their persistence paid off in the 83rd, when junior Victor Blanco found the back of the net off a perfectly placed cross from sophomore Tibo Desorme, trimming the deficit to 2–1. Husson had one more look late, but a final clearance from the Broncos' back line denied the equalizer.
Husson outshot Delhi 15–6 and held a 9–6 edge in corner kicks. Freshman goalkeeper Liam Mason made a pair of second-half saves, while Diaz Alvarez and Noguera led the team with three shots apiece.
With the loss, the 2025 season has come to an end for the Husson University men's soccer team.
