Box Score Bangor, ME – The Husson University Eagles continued their
winning ways with a 15-0 victory over the Thomas College
Terriers. Meg Clement (Jr., Brunswick, ME) led the Eagles
with five goals scored. With the win, Husson improves to
5-1-1 and 2-0 in conference play while Thomas falls to 2-3 and 0-1
in the conference.
Caitlyn Butterfield (Jr., Gorham, ME) started the scoring
campaign with a goal forty-six seconds in to the first half.
Husson would score a man-up goal when Shelby Bradford (Sr., Lee,
ME) collected an unassisted score at the 22:51 mark in the first
half. Clement would tally three goals in the first half which
would end with an 8-0 Husson lead.
The Eagles continued to pull away from the Terriers in the
second half, scoring 7 goals. Michelle Rancourt (Fy.,
Lewiston, ME) and Clement would each contribute two goals on the
half.
The Eagles were dominant throughout the game, outshooting the
Terriers 62-6. Thomas' goalkeeper, Teshia Cates (Fy.,
Skowhegan, ME), had an impressive effort, making 34 saves on 49
shots. Husson's Nikki Burns (Jr., Souith Berwick, ME)
recorded 3 saves.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday, April 10, with a home
conference game against University of Maine at Farmington.
