Box Score 2 The Husson University Eagles recorded their sixth consecutive
sweep with 8-0 and 5-1 victories. Dottie Cameron (Jr., South
Planfield, NJ) paced the Eagles with three doubles and four
RBI's on the day. With the win, Husson improves to
16-12 (8-0 conference) and Green Mountain falls to 2-20 (0-8
conference).
Bri Webster put the Eagles on the board with a sacrifice RBI in
the second inning. Husson followed with a one run third
inning off an RBI double to left field by Cameron. The Eagles
would collect five runs in the bottom of the fourth. Sarah
Risser (So., Brewer, ME) hit a two RBI single to right field that
was followed by an RBI single by Kara Poireier (Fy., Berlin,
NH). Another 2 RBI double by Cameron would put the Eagles up
7-0 in the fourth inning.
Bri Webster (So., Belfast, ME) plated the game's winning
run in the bottom of the fifth, hitting an RBI single to center
field. Husson claimed an 8-0 victory over Green Mountain in
game one.
Husson's Kara Poirier was credited with the win, giving up
just three hits in five innings and striking out three.
Jessica Measheaw (Fy., Hammond, NY) received the loss, giving up 11
hits while striking out two.
The first Husson hit of game two featured yet another double
double by Dottie Cameron. Cameron would score when Cassie
Berry (Sr., Newcastle, ME) reached on an error. The Eagles
would tack on two additional runs in the fourth inning which began
with a triple by Poirier. A bunt single by Amy Mortensen
(Fy., Biddeford, ME) plated Poirier. Megan Bradstreet hit an
RBI slap single to the pitcher. The fourth inning would end
with a 3-0 Husson lead.
Green Mountain answered in the top of the sixth when
Katie Jablonski (Sr., West Rutland,VT) laid down a bunt single and
managed to round the bases and score off a throwing
error.
Megan Richard (Jr., Wilton, ME) pitched the complete
game win, allowing three hits in seven innings and striking out
seven. Cass Neimeth-Lazar (So., Red Hook, NY) recorded the
loss with six innings of work and two strikeouts.
The Husson Eagles scored two additional runs in the bottom of
the sixth, beginning with a leadoff triple by Mortensen.
Mortensen scored off a wild pitch.
Bradstreet tripled to right fiels and eventually scored when
Sousa hit an RBI single. After seven innings of play, the
game ended with a 5-1 Husson victory
The Husson Eagles return to action on Sunday, April 18
when they play Castleton at Home. Game time is set for
12:00. Green Mountain will travel to Maine Maritime and play
at 12:00.
