Double Overtime Not Enough as Husson draws with Castleton

Box Score

BANGOR, ME – Husson University's women's soccer team tied with the Castleton State Spartans today 0-0.  The teams were virtually identical statistically speaking, but the momentum was clearly with Husson.

Husson had a lot of opportunities for goals that went just wide or bounced off of the post and out, and those blown opportunities cost them the victory today.

Husson Head Coach Keith Bosley said, “It's always a good battle.  We're obviously frustrated by the result, but maybe today it was fair.”

Both teams accumulated 12 shots and each had 6 corner kicks awarded to them.  Husson goalie Rozlyn Peterson (JR, Newport, ME) ended the day with 7 saves, and Castleton State goalie Ericka Davis (SO, Cambridge, VT) ended with 6.

Castleton State will play their next game at Fitchburg State on Thursday, October 21.  Their record goes to 12-2-1 on the year.

Husson will be going into their next match with a 10-5-1 record and will play at home against Colby on Tuesday, October 19.
