Box Score Saratoga Springs, N.Y. - The Husson women's soccer team used a
four-goal second half to help defeat Sage College 5-0 Saturday
afternoon at Skidmore College.
The Eagles got on the board early when Kylan Smith
(Presque Isle, ME) collected a rebound off
Shelby Bradford's (Lee, ME) shot and put it past
the Sage keeper at the 15:15 mark for a 1-0 lead.
Amy Sanz (Tyngsboro, MA) gave Husson a 2-0 lead
after she collected her own rebound off of a corner kick and beat
the goalie at the 52:59 mark. The Eagles would pull away as they
added goals from Megan Clement (Brunswick, ME),
Kayleigh Piccirillo (Walpole, NH) and
Alexandra Laniewski (Scarborough, ME) within a six
minuted period late in the second half.
The Eagles outshot the Gators 26-3. Jen Plourde
(Howland, ME) made one save for the shutout and Sage
keeper Brittany McDonald made seven saves in the losing effort.
Both teams return to action Sunday for the final day of the
Skidmore Invitational. Sage will play Westfield State at 11
a.m. and Husson will face off against host Skidmore College at 2
p.m.
