Box Score Bangor, ME - The Husson University Women's Lacrosse team earned their first North Atlantic Conference victory as they defeated the University of Maine-Farmington 15-5. With the win the Eagles improve to 2-3 overall and 1-0 in NAC play. The Beavers fall to 0-4 overall and 0-3 in the NAC. At the half the Eagles held a slim 5-4 lead over Farmington, however Husson would catch on fire and score the next 10 goals to open up the second half.
The Beavers got on the board first on a goal by Julie Sexton (So. Manchester, ME), assisted by Marilyn Grabowski (Fy. Topsham, ME), only 45 seconds into the game. The Eagles would tie the game up three minutes later with an unassisted goal by Rebecca Hatin (Jr. Jeffersonville, VT). The rest of the first half would go back and forth as the Eagles gained a 5-4 lead at half time.
In the second half the Eagles would out shoot the Beavers 28-6, and outscore Farmington 10-1. The Eagles were led by Jami Ladd (Fy. Berlin, VT) who had four goals. Caitlyn Butterfield (So. Gorham, ME) had a hat trick and Shelby Bradford (Jr. Lee, ME) and Caitlyn Ramsey (Jr. Berlin, NH) scored two goals apiece. Goalie Nikki Burns (So. South Berwick, ME) made 10 saves on 17 shots.
The Beavers were led by Kara Hudson (Jr. Wells, ME) who scored two of Farmington's five goals. Goalie Andrea Knox (So. North Waterboro, ME) made 21 saves on 42 shots.
