Box Score Bangor, ME – Husson advanced to the NAC Championship game
with a 3-0 win over
Green Mountain College. Husson will seek their 3rd straight title
as they will face U. Maine Farmington on Saturday, November 8.
Shelby Bradford (Lee, ME) paced the Eagles with a goal and an
assist. She set up Husson first goal finding Samantha Homer (Jr,
Charlton, MA) down the right side for the game's first
goal.
Husson went up 2-0 with just under three minutes left in the half
with a goal by Megan Clement (So, Brunswick, ME). Laurie Melen (Sr,
Londonderry, NH) assisted on the goal.
Karen Davidson (Fy, Seymour, Ct) played well in goal for Green
Mountain recording 11 saves against 31 shots. Davidson kept the
game at 2-0 with a series of saves to start the second half. She
was aided with two defensive saves by Nicole Delong (Fy, Dover,
NH).
Bradford scored at the 81st minute making it 3-0. Katie Nickerson
(Sr, Belfast) initial shot hit the cross bar, she played the
rebound to Bradford who found the back of the net. With the three
goals on today, Husson broke the school record for goals in a
season. They now have 83 goals this season, the previous record was
81.
Tatyana Wolterbeek (Sr, Wells, ME) had the win in goal, facing 4
shots with no saves. Husson recorded their 9th shutout on the
season.
Husson is now 14-4 while Green Mountain finishes their season at
9-9
Husson will host the NAC Championship on Saturday, November 8th at
11:00 am against U. Maine Farmington.
