Box Score Bangor, ME – The Eagles recorded their 4th straight
shutout in route to a 1-0 win over Castleton State. Husson moves
remains undefeated in NAC play at 5-0 and 8-5 overall while the
Spartans drop to 7-6 overall and 4-1 in the NAC.
Jeff Truchon (Sr, Greene, ME) scored the game's only goal.
Tyler Metevier (Fy, Kittery, ME) set Truchon up with a forward pass
from midfield. Truchon beat the defender and created space to fire
a shot past Mike Anthony (Sr, Dartmouth, MA).
The Eagles made the goal stand up for the key NAC win. Bradley Ala
(Jr, Caribou, ME) recorded the shutout with 5 saves against 10
shots. The Eagles made three big saves in the final 2 minutes of
the game. Ala knocked away a shot by Ryan Hahn (Sr, Benson, VT)
with 23 seconds left on the clock. Jacob Labonte (Fy, Winslow, ME)
help preserve the win as Labonte had two defensive saves in the
final minute of play, denying Sean Fitzgerald (Jr, Saratoga, NY) on
back to back shots.
Anthony recorded 7 saves against 26 shots. He kept the Spartans
close with a great save to deny Mark Trombley (Jr, Burnham, ME)
early in the second half. Trombley was all alone in front of the
net and Anthony made the save to keep the score at 1-0.
Husson host Bowdoin College on Tuesday, October 14th at 2:00 pm.
Castleton travels to SUNY-Cobleskills on Wednesday, October 15th at
4:00 pm.
