Smith named NAC defensive player of the week

WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference selected its weekly award winners for women's soccer on Monday and Husson University women's soccer sophomore Gabriella Smith picked up defensive player of the week honors.

Smith was essential for Husson in a 0-0 draw on Tuesday for the Eagles at Bates College. Smith totaled a career-high eight saves for Husson to pick up her second shutout of the season, as the Eagles picked up their first point against the Bobcats since 2021 when they earned a 1-1 draw at home.

The Eagles return to the field tomorrow when they battle Thomas College in a NAC matchup on Boucher Field at 4 p.m.
