WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference released its final weekly awards of the season for softball and the No. 20 Husson University softball team took home three awards.
Junior Ana Lang earned her fourth-consecutive and fifth overall pitcher of the week award after she concluded a dominant regular season with three more dominant outings in an unbeaten week of conference action for Husson. Lang totaled 11 innings pitched and gave up just two hits as her only base runners, as she struck out 20 hitters and picked up three wins in the circle, as she currently ranks first in all of Division III in strikeouts.
Junior Camryn King picked up her second player of the week award of the year after she posted a 10-14 clip at the plate in the final week of the regular season for No. 20 Husson, as she totaled one triple and two home runs, driving in 11 runners and scoring seven runs herself. King totaled a 9-9 rate on stolen bases and drew one walk, as she did not strike out during the week.
Freshman Sophia Lynch was selected as co-rookie of the week, marking her second-straight selection, as she put together another fantastic week at the plate for Husson, as she totaled five hits in six at-bats, posting one double and three home runs, while driving in six runners and scoring four runs. Lynch did not strikeout on the week and drew one walk, as she successfully stole one out of one bases.
The Eagles begin their quest to defend their NAC crown on Thursday when they battle the winner of the University of Maine at Farmington and SUNY Delhi at 2 p.m. at O'Keefe Field.
