STANDISH, Maine – The Maine College Baseball and Softball Association unveiled its final weekly awards of the season for softball on Tuesday and the No. 20 Husson University softball team swept the honors.
Senior catcher Morgan Tainter hit .556 (5-for-9) with five runs scored, six RBI, three doubles, two walks, and a stolen base over three NAC Tournament games for Husson to earn player of the week. She posted a .583 on-base percentage and an .889 slugging percentage while helping the Eagles go 3-0 in tourney play en route to winning the 2026 NAC Championship. Tainter capped the week by going 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles in a win over Thomas College.
Junior pitcher Ana Lang went 3-0 with a 1.23 ERA and 25 strikeouts over 17.1 innings across three appearances for the Eagles. She allowed just four hits and three earned runs while posting a 0.53 WHIP and limiting opponents to a .070 batting average. Lang opened the week with 5.1 innings of one-hit, shutout ball and eight strikeouts against Maine-Farmington, followed with an 11-strikeout complete-game win over Thomas College, and closed the week with five hitless innings and six strikeouts against Thomas. She also set Husson's single-season program records for strikeouts (259) and wins (21) during the week, en route to her fifth MCBSA pitcher of the week award.
Freshman infielder Sophia Lynch hit .400 (4-10) with two runs, a double, an RBI, and a pair of sac hits in three NAC Tournament victories for the conference champion Eagles last week to earn her second-straight MCBSA rookie of the week honor.
Husson begins NCAA Regional play at home on Thursday when it battles Endicott College in the opening game of the Bangor Regional at 11 a.m.
