INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Husson University men's basketball senior guard Charlie Katsiaficas has been invited to attend the Silver Waves Media NXT Up Rising Stars Power Lunch in Indianapolis, Indiana at the NCAA Division I Men's Basketball Final Four.

Katsiaficas is one of 68 invitees from all across the country and across all divisions of the NCAA that have been selected to attend this prestigious event, where each invite has been recognized as a rising star in the college basketball landscape and highlighting them as some of the most promising young coaching talents in the nation.

Katsiaficas has concluded his final year as a player on the Husson men's basketball team, which won two conference championships with Katsiaficas on the team. 

"I am just grateful to be able to attend the event put on by Coach Silver and Silver Waves Media," said Katsiaficas. "They put on a great event every year at the Final Four that I have been blessed to be a part of for three years now."

Katsiaficas is one of just a handful of players that have been selected to attend this year, with the majority of the attendees being current coaches looking to make the next jump in their careers.

After graduating from Husson, Katsiaficas hopes to attain a coaching position at either the collegiate or professional level, which would continue the rich history of coaching that is engrained in his family, as his father, Charles Katsiaficas, has concluded his 38th season as the head coach of Pomona Pitzer College in California, while his grandfather, Charlie Katsiaficas, was inducted into the Maine Basketball Hall of Fame in 2025 as a Legend of the Game.
