WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference unveiled its weekly award winners for track & field on Tuesday and Husson University women's track & field picked up three awards.
Senior Niamiah Perry was named co-track athlete of the week after she took home an event win for Husson at the Monks Invitational on Saturday, as she took first in the 100 meters with a personal-best time of 13.10, while also taking part in Husson's 4x100 meter relay team, which took first-place and set a new program record with a time of 51.28. Perry also recorded a sixth-place finish in the 200 meters with a time of 28.85, in addition to placing second in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 17.34. Perry also took part in a jumping event for the Eagles, placing 14th in the long jump with a distance of 4.41 meters.
Junior Abigail Conlogue earned her second NAC field athlete of the week award after she put together another standout performance in the javelin throw at the Monks Invitational, winning the event with a throw of 36.64 meters, which also met the DIII New England standard, in addition to setting a new personal-best. Conlogue also took part in the hammer throw, recording a distance of 28.72 meters to come in 18th.
Freshman JaLynn Williams was named rookie of the week after she continued to shine in her rookie campaign with the Eagles, as she recorded top three finishes in both the 100 and 200 meters, while also setting a new personal-best in the 100. Williams finished second in the 100, placing behind her teammate Niamiah Perry, with a time of 13.28 to clear a new personal benchmark, in addition to earning a third-place finish in the 200 with a time of 27.70. Williams was also on Husson's 4x100 meter relay team, which captured first place in the event and set a new Husson program record. Additionally, Williams also took part in the high jump and long jump, placing 13th in the high jump with a height of 1.34 meters, while adding a 17th place finish in the long jump with a leap of 4.34 meters.
Husson is back in action on Saturday in the Maine State Meet, hosted by Bates College at the Russell Street Track & Field.
