Women’s track & field wins four events, places second at NAC championships

ORONO, Maine — The Husson University women's track & field team turned in a standout performance at the 2026 North Atlantic Conference Track & Field Championship, highlighted by multiple event wins, DIII New England qualifying marks and a second-place finish as a team.

In the 100 meters, freshman JaLynn Williams finished third in the finals with a DIII New England qualifying time of 12.85 seconds. Senior Niamiah Perry followed in fourth in 13.05, sophomore Natasha Monreal placed fifth in 13.22 and sophomore Molly Dearborn finished sixth in 14.06.

Williams added another runner-up finish in the 200 meters, clocking a DIII New England qualifying time of 26.80 seconds. Perry also competed in the event, finishing eighth in 29.17.

In the 400 meters, Dearborn placed second in 1:03.11, while senior Lexi Freeman finished seventh in 1:14.93. Freshman Lucinda Carroll led Husson in the 800 meters with a fourth-place finish in 2:39.78, followed by junior Olivia Underwood in fifth at 2:48.31 and junior Abby Hunt in seventh at 3:03.20. Carroll also finished fourth in the 1,500 meters in 5:48.57.

Senior Grace Bedore captured the 5,000-meter title for the Eagles, winning the event in 20:40.46. Carroll added a fourth-place finish in 21:23.68.

Husson placed four athletes in the 100-meter hurdle finals, led by freshman Mya Madden's second-place finish in 17.12 seconds. Perry finished third in 17.45, Freeman placed fourth in 17.93 and sophomore Brianna Andrews took fifth in 18.52. In the prelims, Perry posted a DIII New England qualifying time of 16.48, while also setting a new program record for the Eagles.

In the 400-meter hurdles, Dearborn finished sixth in 1:18.22, followed by Freeman in seventh at 1:19.02 and freshman Nina Huber in eighth at 1:19.54.

Bedore added another event win in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, finishing first in 12:50.11. Huber placed third in 13:47.09, while Hunt finished fifth in 14:06.24.

The Eagles won the 4x100-meter relay, as Perry, Williams, Monreal and Dearborn combined for a time of 50.24 seconds to set a new program record for the Eagles. Husson's 4x400-meter relay team of Underwood, Freeman, Williams and Dearborn finished second in 4:34.59.

In the long jump, Perry finished second with a new Husson program record and a DIII New England qualifying mark of 5.28 meters, while Monreal placed third with a DIII New England mark of 5.24 meters. Williams also hit the DIII New England standard with a sixth-place mark of 5.10 meters.

Williams led the Eagles in the triple jump, finishing fifth with a DIII New England qualifying mark of 10.52 meters. Monreal also hit the DIII New England standard with a mark of 10.42 meters.

In the shot put, senior Megan Fletcher finished sixth with a throw of 9.92 meters and also led the Eagles in the discus at 28.01 meters.

Junior Abigail Conlogue added another title for Husson in the javelin, winning the event with a DIII New England qualifying throw of 38.14 meters. Fletcher finished sixth at 29.34 meters.

The Eagles wrap up their outdoor season next weekend at Springfield College for the New England Division III Outdoor Championships on May 1 and 2.
