JACKSONVILLE, N.C. – The Husson University men's golf team closed out play at the 53rd Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate on a strong note Sunday, turning in its best round of the tournament to finish 21st overall with a three-day total of 930 (+66) at the Paradise Point Gold Course.
Husson saved its top performance for the final round, carding a 302 (+14) as a team—13 strokes better than its second-round score and the Eagles' lowest round of the weekend. The improvement came from a more consistent showing across the lineup, as Husson played more steady golf over the final 18 holes.
Leading the way for the Eagles was junior Ty Dickson, who finished tied for 17th overall at 218 (+2). Dickson was in contention throughout the weekend, opening with a 70 before adding rounds of 74 and 74 to secure one of the top individual finishes in the field.
Several Eagles contributed to the strong closing round. Junior Jace Cook posted one of the biggest improvements on the final day, firing a 75 after rounds of 82 and 85 to finish at 242 (+26). Freshman Michael Bruce also showed a strong bounce-back performance, shooting a 76 in the third round to finish at 241 (+25), while junior Bradley Chisholm rounded out the scoring with a 77 on Sunday to total 245 (+29). Junior Juan Carlos Hernandez added a 79 in the final round to finish at 233 (+17).
As a team, Husson opened the tournament with rounds of 313 and 315 before finding its rhythm in the final round. The Eagles' 302 on Sunday highlighted their ability to adjust to the course conditions and compete more effectively down the stretch.
Drew University captured the team title at 865 (+1), while Swarthmore's Dylan Zhang earned medalist honors with a three-round total of 209 (-7).
The Eagles will close out their 2025-26 season next weekend when they head to Farmingdale, New York to compete in the Farmingdale State College Spring Invitational at the Bethpage State Park Golf Course on Saturday and Sunday.
