Men’s golf tied for 13th after opening round of Farmingdale State Spring Invite

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Husson University men's golf team opened competition at the FSC Spring Invitational, hosted by Farmingdale State College at Bethpage State Park Golf Course on Saturday.

After the opening round of play, Husson sits tied for 13th overall with a team score of 297 in a highly competitive field featuring multiple nationally ranked programs.

The Eagles were paced by junior Ty Dickson, who carded a 2-over par round to lead Husson and finish tied for 31st overall. Junior Juan Carlos Hernandez followed with a 3-over performance, placing tied for 40th, while freshman Chase Farnsworth posted a 5-over round to sit tied for 59th.

Junior Bradley Chrisholm added a 7-over score, and freshman Michael Bruce rounded out the Eagles lineup with a 13-over round.

Husson finds itself in a tightly contested middle of the leaderboard, just a few strokes behind several teams clustered ahead, including Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Hamilton College, who are also tied at 297.

Babson College leads the field after day one with a round of 273, followed by Bowdoin College (277) and Amherst College (279). Individually, Chad Tordone holds the top spot at 5-under par.

Husson will return to the course on Sunday for the second and final round of the FSC Spring Invitational.
