FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The Husson University men's golf team completed play at the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational on Sunday at Bethpage State Park Golf Course, finishing 11th overall with a two-round total of 591 (297-294) against a deep NCAA Division III field.
The highlight of the weekend for the Eagles came from junior Ty Dickson, who delivered one of the top individual performances in program history during the final round. Dickson finished second overall in the 96-player field with a two-day total of 139, firing rounds of 72 and an impressive 67 on Sunday. His second-round surge vaulted him up the leaderboard and placed him just two strokes behind medalist Jan Ebbinge of Amherst College, who finished at 137.
Dickson's round of 67 was one of the lowest scores of the entire tournament and was tied for the second-best round in Husson men's golf history.
Junior Juan Carlos Hernandez also turned in a strong showing for the Eagles, finishing tied for 30th with a two-round total of 146 (73-73). Freshman Chase Farnsworth followed with a total of 152 (75-77), placing tied for 68th, while junior Bradley Chisholm carded a 154 (77-77) to finish tied for 82nd.
Freshman Michael Bruce rounded out the Husson competitors with a 160 (83-77), highlighting a strong bounce-back effort on Sunday with a six-stroke improvement in his second round.
As a team, Husson shaved three strokes off its opening-round score and the Eagles finished just five strokes shy of cracking the top 10, underscoring the competitiveness of the field, which included several nationally ranked programs. Babson College captured the team title with a 565, followed by Amherst at 568.
The Eagles will look to carry their momentum into next season, as the 2025-26 season has come to an end for Husson men's golf.
