WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference named its weekly award winners for men's lacrosse on Monday and Husson University men's lacrosse senior Kiernan Field and junior Owen Giorgio were honored.
Field earned back to back player of the week awards after he was dominant on offense for Husson in a 2-0 week of action, as the Eagles earned a road win over Vermont State University Castleton, before dominating Anna Maria College in their North Atlantic Conference opener. Field totaled 14 goals and two assists for the week, as he recorded six goals, one assist and two ground balls against Castleton, before ending the week with an eight-goal game against Anna Maria, which also included one assist, three caused turnovers and two ground balls.
Giorgio garnered co-defensive player of the week after he caused havoc on the defensive end of the field for Husson to earn a second-consecutive defensive player of the week honor. Giorgio posted four ground balls and two caused turnovers in the road victory at Castleton, before concluding the week with a 20-ground ball performance, which fell two short of matching the Husson single-game program record, in addition to adding six caused turnovers and two assists.
Additionally for Husson, freshman Gabe Robinson was named to the weekly honor roll for his efforts.
The Eagles return to action on Saturday when they head to SUNY Cobleskill for their first road NAC contest.
