WATERVILLE, Maine – The North Atlantic Conference announced its weekly award winners for men's lacrosse on Monday and the Husson University men's lacrosse team swept the awards.
Senior Kiernan Field was named player of the week after a dominant week of offense for the Eagles. Field registered a total of nine goals and five assists in Husson's three games, which included a dominant win over Centenary University and two close defeats to Hood College and the University of New England. Field recorded five goals and two assists against Centenary, in addition to adding a goal and two assists against Hood and a hat trick and one assist versus UNE.
Junior Owen Giorgio was selected as defensive player of the week after recording a total of 13 ground balls and five caused turnovers for the Eagles, in addition to three goals and two on offense. Giorgio posted three ground balls and two assists versus Centenary, forced three turnovers to go along with five ground balls and two goals against Hood, while finishing the week with five ground balls, two caused turnovers and a goal against UNE.
Freshman Gabe Robinson capped off the awards with a rookie of the week selection after compiling a statline of five goals, four ground balls and a caused turnover for the week. Robinson posted two goals against Centenary, added two more scores to go along with two ground balls and the caused turnover versus Hood and concluded the week with a goal and two ground balls versus UNE.
Husson returns to the field on Wednesday when they head to Vermont State University Castleton for a 4 p.m. matchup.
